Also to note while people who aren't women can go through pregnancy, the forced birth movement is not interested in ALL people giving birth. Over time this will become more apparent as they attempt to police, surveillance & restrict the "undesirables" from reproducing.
Already happens to disabled people but will be broadened as the blanket terminology of who the "undesirables" & "unfit" are that we need to get a handle on & control spreads in mainstream discourse. Attempts will be made to make this language & goal acceptable & palpable to the public.

Was talking to a woman recently about this and she was baffled emotionally of the lack of organizational response in mass protest, but then thought out loud maybe it was a better grown up decision because of other failed long term mass protests but I said no it's ok to admit that this was a massive failure and she agreed.
There was one group who had more militant protest actions in the beginning after Roe was struck down, but one member of it had a lot of odd controversy and the group was disavowed swiftly and publicly by multiple orgs. Yet nobody did any kind of militant action again. It's unforgivable.

There are millions of people who know better not even that far or deep down but going to roll the dice across the political spectrum because they believe it doesn't matter if Trump gets in. The women, the young women especially who will give up their bodily autonomy on a national level is the most tragic. I dread a battle between reproductive rights voters and people who will hold their vote because of the genocide in Gaza. Likely some in those groups who think arguing out loud to each other in the public sphere why they are right and the other is wrong is a good and worthwhile endeavor. I saw it a few months back (before debate debacle) on Reproductive Freedom For All's Instagram page. I think one of the issues that reproductive rights and abortion faces with it continually being shuffled around awkwardly on the left (except in feminist spaces) is because it is seen as a Democratic Party issue. Somehow abortion and reproductive rights has escaped being seen in the context of real life material realities on the left. I don't know how this gets fixed because I have not seen more framing and urgency even two years after Roe. Besides the voting it seems that the movement is still missing something big on an organizational level. I see reproductive rights talked more in liberal spaces with more urgency strangely than in the left sphere. I hate to come to that observation and conclusion but I have. Even stranger? Men in liberal, moderate and some conservatives seem more comfortable with this issue than some of the men on the left who act like they are going to wield the revolution with their bare hands in the streets. Some of the women as well. And as I said the most tragic the young women who will risk and give themselves away. Who don't know what is ahead and in store who won't have the tools and support they need to really fight. They are caught in the fantasy and concept of a struggle they have never known. The fascists are waiting and they will pull it all out from under. A small collective group banding together in dystopia will not have the training and medical training and facilities needed on a mass scale when the shit hits the fan in this regard.

ABORTION IS KITCHEN TABLE ISSUES! It is economics! It’s the MOST kitchen table issue ever. Attaining and acquiring reproductive freedom is freedom and liberation from the government ruling over your life and the lives of those you care about. That provides self determination and dignity for people’s own choices and to live life on their own terms not the ruling class’s and certainly not the government dictating it.

I see this toxic language in reproductive rights circles of 'men YOU need to get vasectomies to show you're responsible' ??? Like you want the reverse of coercing people into controlling their reproductive parts by individuals and the state??? No this must stop even if it comes from a 'good' place, a rightfully angry place, or a 'funny' letting off steam place. I got into a debate with someone on social media about it when I was gently commenting on another person's reply challenging this kind of joke. The guy actually thought I made a fair criticism of his use of language but I angered this woman who replied to me saying something to the effect of we have no power over them if we make the jokes or not. I replied saying I didn't understand her approach in responding to me saying it came across as hostile. I explained my reasoning why we shouldn't use this language because they will use everything they can against us. The woman erased their comment and deleted their profile. It was a good comeback I made but I don't believe that's why, likely a bot.
It was on a post of a video of men fighting with abortion clinic escorts. Two or three of them were young men who looked like high school age and kind of awkwardly standing there while forced birthers were wrestling a ladder from some women. The ringleader is a well known person who causes these commotions. The forced birthers were trying to use the ladder for standing on it to then yell through a bullhorn or some bullshit. Ironically if you saw the reproductive rights people do this the police would have them face down in handcuffs. Did you know police do not have a good track record of helping the reproductive rights movement against the forced birthers?
I also see a disturbing (but I understand where it comes form) trend of celebrating people altering their bodies permanently because they know their reproductive choices will be taken or have been taken away by them from the state. We should understand and respect people's personal decisions and obviously if they want to celebrate, but I don't think we should be happy about it. Or at least not call it out as a form of indirect state violence. Can also can add this is also done as a protection against interpersonal violence due to rape/coercion into intercourse/stealthing/birth control sabotage that will rise because the government has decided they can control people's lives this way. Oh you small government and personal freedom conservative hypocrites where is your moral outrage?

I wasn't some hero over these last years or before but I don't believe in a lot of you who want to be figureheads and mouthpieces who have had no plans of your own in the last couple years. Many of you couldn't even stay masked Covid wave after Covid wave. This also before vaccines, indoors of all places. What resilience are you going on about? You think you'll be in the history books with your social media takes when you'll just be footnotes or like most people, forgotten to the fates of time.
We have one of the greatest mobilizing issues of our time and so many are completely oblivious blowing it because the same people blew it off for years as important. Abortion has been taken for granted long enough by the Democrats and needs to stop being taken for granted by anyone who says they are on the left. I think the Trump presidency years inflated too many people into believing they could be resistance martyrs to lead a brand new way. Why are some people so convinced they are going to lead a revolution? Am I just fantasizing? No I just did a lot of canvassing and talking to people in the mid-terms and men brought this up to me all on their own and this was also the experience of my canvas partners own experiences as well. I was dumbfounded to be honest. Men old enough to be my father and others who are just the standard cis-white males (who are just statistically more conservative leaning) brought it up all on their own. It really was eye opening. It made me think about not always assuming coming across someone and their identity where they stand and a healthy reminder because there are many women who are traitors on this issue. Women who have given birth too. How twisted and sadistic, that's dark you have to admit, it's fucked and they are well organized. No need to debate these people though, there is plenty of other people with their hearts and minds cleaned and open.
I read an article that in Kentucky in 2022 midterms they had specific targeting for men on this issue. From my understanding of organizing time, money and energy you wouldn't do that if you didn't smell blood in the water. The white Christian fascists will always be better funded but they don't have the numbers when an issue is organized around because most people don't want to live in a theocracy. And yesterday saw Kamala Harris' husband whom I had seen on the Men4Choice Instagram account when he had met with them, footage of him on TV speaking about getting men to support this issue. A commentator who was one of the Republicans who ran away from the GOP after Trump was nominated said what a great idea this was. And you can say a lot going on about how the campaign operation is what is working and what isn't or to be improved etc, but they wouldn't be putting money into an issue that has not done off the wall blown out the door and knocked down the house numbers, so something is salient. Trump saying he will be hands off on the states I can and do expect people who support him but support protecting choice will vote for the amendments to believe him on that. I wonder if Nicki had gotten the nominee if she would have tried that lie as well as people polling don't like bans actually.
