You would not know there is a very important midterms going on in my neck of the woods of Northampton County or that Shapiro was running for reelection. The signs on roadways are mostly sparse or Republicans. Personal house sins are sparse but when see mostly Dems, but it's still small. Haven't ventured everywhere, not like the places where I chauffeured NYC canvasing helpers back in 2024 with the huge Trump flags placed and waved like God was returning for retribution. (How's that going? Not the kind of retribution you thought we'd be getting right?) Bob Brooks has no real ads or outreach but I get swamped by pro and negative MacKenzie ads. Someone I know watches a different area of YouTube so they get a lot of ads. I just use Youtube for music mostly, so maybe I'm missing things.
PA-7 is the bellwether and it encompasses more than Northampton despite Susan Wild losing PA-7 overall she won here in 2024, despite Casey and Haris withering away. Kind of matched how close the electoral college was in a way. I don't know what the Northampton County Dems are doing and PA All In is gone, no outreach. Tons of texts of Shapiro begging for money, though I know he's trying to focus on state legislation being flipped, but could do better even though he is running against another weak far right psychopath. Susan Wild ran a real machine and something happened after the election loss in 2024 for the Dems own organizing out here it seems, kinda of not great.
Maybe I'm wrong and to be honest I'm not attached to the midterms cause I don't have faith in the DNC, it feels like a red herring of sorts also. 'Don't focus on the structural, look how bad Trump is doing!' 'The people who want to keep the lights on but don't want to change things, those grownups need some of the keys handed over from the mad men heading the asylum right now, to at least turn the fan on, since it's so uncomfortable and stuffy feeling under all those fires happening in the building. Gee how will we ever put them out when we get power again?'
Did you see the new "Revolution rooted in reality" (!!!) ad on healthcare, it's called Medicare for Americans? (We are forever in VEEP land) Doesn't that get your hope and juices flowing peasants, bums, and serfs? Why would anyone have any hope in this project....but continue to throw trans people and kids under the bus, that will do it!!! 🙄

Oh almost forgot to mention the Northampton County Dem outreach that I did get occurred a week because of my loyal support (I guess the canvassing?) That I am invited to a gala a week and a half before the election for $125 a ticket with special guest Chris Deluzio (he took over Connor Lamb's old seat). Like...speechless to be honest and a bit of rage eye roll.
If it's a blue wave-wave will that even do anything? Who's even running on anything having a message or plan of sorts for 2028 besides Van Hollen who likely wouldn't get the nom, you have to have optics. Did you see all the shitty Harris polls and support? Then right behind nipping at her heels, is the backstabber with a pen and a smile carting away the homeless possessions Newsom? Voters man...
